Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Imaging By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers an advanced exploration of the field of molecular imaging, focusing on the visualization of cellular function and tracking molecular processes in living organisms. This PhD program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to utilize cutting-edge imaging techniques for the diagnosis and management of diseases, including cancer, neurological and cardiovascular disorders, as well as infections and inflammatory conditions.
PhD candidates will engage in extensive research utilizing innovative medical technologies, such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Optical Imaging, and hybrid modalities like PET-CT and SPECT-CT. By leveraging biomarkers for specific imaging targets, molecular imaging allows for earlier diagnosis and improved treatment monitoring compared to traditional methods. This program fosters multidisciplinary integration across science, technology, medicine, and pharmacy, enabling graduates to pioneer advancements in medical imaging applications and impact healthcare outcomes significantly.
