Doctor of Philosophy in Nanotechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) prepares students for advanced study in the field of nanotechnology, focusing on the development of materials, devices, and structures with at least one dimension between 1 and 100 nanometers.

This program explores the manipulation of matter at the atomic and molecular levels, integrating various scientific disciplines, including surface science, organic chemistry, molecular biology, semiconductor physics, and microfabrication. Research areas often include applications of nanotechnology in sensors, delivery systems, nanoabsorbents, nanoelectronics, nanomachines, nanocomposites, nanotubes, and nanocarbons. Students will gain the expertise needed to make significant contributions to innovations in this rapidly advancing field.

Entry Requirements

• A master’s degree in the field or related fields accepted by the UPM Senate
