Doctor of Philosophy in Plantation Technology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is designed to advance knowledge in technology adaptation for plantation management. The program emphasizes phenotyping to assess plant traits critical for improving crop yields and agronomic properties. Research combines laboratory approaches, including genomic studies, with farm technologies like wireless sensors, UAVs, and robotics. 

This comprehensive focus on integrated technology adaptation addresses existing challenges in plantation conditions and crop health. Graduates will gain the skills necessary for careers as researchers, field managers, policy makers, and consultants, enabling them to compete in both local and international markets.

Entry Requirements

• A Master’s degree in the field or related fields accepted by the UPM Senate
