Doctor of Philosophy in Pure Mathematics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers an advanced investigation into various fields of pure mathematics, including algebra, functional analysis, graph theory, number theory, and group theory. PhD candidates will delve deeply into topics within algebra, covering Lie algebra, Leibniz algebra, Hopf algebra, K-theory algebra, algebraic topology, and homological algebra.

Research in this program will focus on infinite-dimensional topological vector spaces in functional analysis, the characterization of chromatically unique graphs, and the distribution of roots and inequalities of the chromatic polynomial in graph theory. Additionally, the program will emphasize analytic and algebraic number theory, Diophantine approximation, and computational group theory. This rigorous academic environment prepares graduates to contribute significantly to the advancement of pure mathematics.
