Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology of Education By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is designed to cultivate innovative educators and professionals equipped to critically assess and improve their educational practices. 

This program integrates practical knowledge, educational theories, and research to tackle pressing issues within the field of education. Its distinctive focus on the sociology of education encompasses both micro and macro perspectives. The micro perspective investigates factors within educational settings, such as culture, disciplinary practices, peer influence, and hidden curricula, while the macro perspective addresses larger systemic issues, including educational institutions as formal entities, the teaching profession, educational equity, and cultural diversity.
