Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers a specialized study of advanced statistical methodologies and applications. The program explores key areas such as Robust Statistics, Extreme Value Theory, Bayesian Modelling and Inference, Multivariate Analysis, Survival Analysis, and Time Series.
PhD candidates will conduct in-depth research on robust statistical methods, focusing on robust diagnostic techniques and parameter estimation in various models impacted by outliers. They will investigate the use of Extreme Value Theory for modeling extreme data, as well as Bayesian approaches that combine prior information with empirical evidence for inference. Additionally, the program addresses applications of multivariate analysis, survival analysis techniques for analyzing time-to-event data, and time series modeling for forecasting various phenomena. This rigorous academic program prepares graduates to make significant contributions to the field of statistics.
• A Master’s degree in the field or related fields accepted by the UPM Senate
