Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Planning and Design By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the processes and principles essential for sustainable urban and regional planning. This program encompasses a diverse range of topics, including the planning and design of urban and rural areas, policy development, economic factors, housing, environmental considerations, social dynamics, recreation, transportation, and local identity. 

Additionally, it explores critical themes such as place attachment, psychology, technology, urban geography, cultural theory, and land assets across various urban contexts.

 Through comprehensive research, students will gain advanced insights and expertise, equipping them to address contemporary challenges in urban planning and make significant contributions to the sustainable development of urban areas.
