Master of Agricultural Process Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emphasizes the application of engineering principles and practices to post-harvest operations, preservation, and processing of agricultural and bioresource materials. The program aims to ensure efficient utilization and minimize losses of these materials.
Key areas of focus include primary processing, preservation, and storage of major agricultural commodities such as grains, oil palm, cocoa, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbal materials. Students will engage in designing, developing, and applying chemical and physical unit operations, including separation, extraction, purification, extrusion, drying, packaging, milling, heating, and refrigeration.
Additionally, the program places emphasis on utilizing agricultural and biological materials to develop new bio-based raw materials for food, nutraceuticals, and manufacturing, equipping graduates to innovate in the field of agricultural process engineering.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
