Master of Arts in Literacy Studies By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) involves the examination of literacy as a skills-based, social, and reflexive practice across various contexts. 

The program focuses on different types of literacy, including functional literacy, workplace literacy, cultural literacy, critical literacy, and media literacy. Research in this field investigates the use and impact of spoken and written texts, the processes and skills involved in literacy activities, and the associated cultural, linguistic, and social dynamics.

 Through rigorous research, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of literacy and its pivotal role in shaping communication and understanding in diverse environments.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent.
