Master of Farm Structures By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emphasizes research on optimal structures for agricultural machinery and implements, storage of agricultural produce, and facilities for animal husbandry. The program focuses on creating environments that enhance animal comfort and productivity in agricultural practices.
Research in controlled environment structures is particularly important, focusing on developing mechanisms to maintain specific conditions tailored to agricultural needs. The design and application of automation technologies, including computers, controllers, and sensors, are explored to manage lighting, temperature, and automated water control effectively.
Additional areas of research interest include semi-mechanically controlled environments, cooling systems for naturally ventilated tropical greenhouses, fertigation systems for temperate crop production, mechanized systems for greenhouse production, and emerging technologies in controlled environment systems. Students will engage in comprehensive research aimed at advancing agricultural practices through innovative structural solutions.
