Master of Photonics Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emphasizes advanced research and coursework related to optical communications, particularly from the perspectives of the physical and data link layers.

Key areas of focus include optical transmission techniques such as coding, modulation, multiplexing, and propagation, as well as security and access technologies operating at optical frequencies. The program also encompasses studies on materials and devices integral to photonics. Through rigorous research, students will develop the expertise needed to address complex challenges in photonics engineering and contribute innovative solutions to the field.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
