The Master of Science in Agricultural Extension By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) encompasses the meaning and objectives of agricultural extension, the role of extension workers, and the history and organization of extension services. The program covers various extension methods and techniques, the extension process, and the concepts of rural sociology, including rural leadership patterns and community organization.
Additionally, students will learn the principles and philosophy of extension communication, the extension teaching process, and adult learning strategies. The curriculum includes the principles, steps, and models of program planning and evaluation, as well as concepts, theories, principles, and guidelines pertaining to extension administration. Students will also explore statistics and research methods relevant to extension, agricultural journalism, and contemporary issues in extension and rural development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate.
