Master of Science in Animal Welfare By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emphasizes the principles of the five domains of animal welfare: nutritional, environmental, health, behavioral, and mental well-being. This specialization focuses on the identification, investigation, evaluation, proposal, and management of animal welfare issues using indices of deprivation across these domains. 

Research in this program encompasses the effects of stressful and unsuitable environments on animal physiology, reproduction, behavior, longevity, and disease susceptibility and resistance. Students may also develop studies to establish blood, physiological, and physical profiles to assess cruelty toward animals. 
Additionally, potential research topics include evaluating the welfare of wildlife by examining their behavior, environment, adaptation, and survival in captivity.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor's degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
