Master of Science in Applied Mathematics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on various fields including fluid dynamics, fracture mechanics, optimization, operations research, and cryptography. Students will explore fluid motion with applications in engineering sciences, emphasizing stability in fluid flow and surface tension phenomena. Research in fracture mechanics addresses 2-D and 3-D crack problems, alongside numerical solutions to integral equations.
Additionally, the program includes solving Combinatorial Optimization Problems (COPs) in operations research, such as scheduling and resource allocation, utilizing genetic algorithms. Students will also investigate differential games, stability of non-autonomous systems, and large-scale optimization techniques. Cryptography topics covered range from primality testing to elliptic curve cryptography, providing a comprehensive foundation in applied mathematics.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
