Master of Science in Aquaculture Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on integrating engineering principles into the design of aquaculture production systems. This program prioritizes the efficiency of various designs, including Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), multitrophic culture systems, and photobioreactors.
Students will explore hydraulic and hydrological aspects critical to sourcing and managing water for aquaculture activities. The design of water treatment systems and automation processes aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency is also a key focus.
The program addresses challenges related to inconsistent water supply, ensuring adequate water quality and quantity for aquaculture practices. Moreover, the application of IoT technology for monitoring production system efficiency and innovative methods for observing fish behavior using image processing and sonic technology will be emphasized, contributing to improved fish production quality and quantity.
