Master of Science in Bacteriology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the study of pathogenic bacteria, emphasizing their characteristics, roles, and effects as causative agents of diseases in both animals and humans. This multidisciplinary program integrates aspects of epidemiology, pathogenicity, pathogenesis, diagnosis, control, and prevention of bacterial diseases.
Research in this field addresses bacterial diseases that are economically significant to the animal veterinary industry and pertinent to public health. Students will employ various techniques, including molecular biology, biotechnology, genomics, and proteomics, to conduct their investigations, equipping them with essential skills for advancing knowledge in bacteriology.
