Master of Science in Clinical Pathology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on disease diagnosis and monitoring through laboratory analyses of blood, urine, body fluids, secretions, and tissue specimens. The program encompasses a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical biochemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and molecular techniques.
Research in this field primarily centers on diseases of the blood and immune system, coagulation disorders, infectious and noninfectious diseases, cancers, disease biomarkers, and abnormalities in other body systems. Clinical pathology serves as a vital tool in toxicological studies, evaluating the efficacy of drugs and natural products for disease treatment, and monitoring recovery from both induced and naturally occurring diseases in animals. Additionally, the techniques used in clinical pathology contribute to understanding animal population health and disease prevalence.
