Master of Science in Database Systems By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) emphasizes the essential role of databases in contemporary information systems. The program addresses the shift from traditional centralized-relational database models to more advanced database technologies.

Research topics encompass a variety of sub-areas, including the semantic web, various types of databases (centralized, distributed, parallel, mobile, multimedia, and biomedical), data quality, data warehousing, and the processes of query formulation, processing, and optimization. Additionally, the program explores integrity, integration, privacy, and security in databases, along with applications, models, and frameworks for e-commerce, e-governance, and ontology management. Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in the dynamic field of database systems.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
