Master of Science in Epidemiology and Public Health By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the occurrence, distribution, causes, prevention, control, monitoring, and surveillance of diseases affecting human populations. In this program, students will analyze epidemiological data to correlate various risk factors with disease incidence, including emerging and marginalized zoonoses of public health significance.
Research will emphasize areas such as disease resistance, antibiotic residues in food, and food safety. Students will also conduct studies related to food quality and animal-based process control, microbial risk assessment, and the implementation of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) systems. Field research will involve designing epidemiologic studies and developing systems based on HACCP for food production settings, equipping graduates to tackle public health challenges effectively.
