Master of Science in Food Safety By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) addresses the complexities of the food production network, where the risk of foodborne hazards is prevalent. This program emphasizes the application of advanced technical expertise necessary for the food industry, which is increasingly adopting a farm-to-table approach to food safety.
Students will gain the skills to monitor and evaluate microbiological, chemical, and physical parameters crucial for product safety. The curriculum equips them with theoretical knowledge and practical insights into issues such as pathogens, chemical hazards, and GMOs.
Additionally, students will be exposed to the latest information regarding the effects of processing and the implementation of HACCP quality management and risk assessment specific to various foods.
