Master of Science in Halal Products Development By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the research, development, and commercialization of halal-compliant products and processes for the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. This program covers key areas such as the development of halal products, including protein-based hydrolysates, halal enzymes, and meat and meat-based products.
Students will also explore halal lipid-based materials, such as emulsifiers, fat and oil substitutes, and specialty fats. Additionally, the program emphasizes developing processing aids that serve as alternatives to porcine enzymes and non-halal gelatins.
Graduates will engage in creating halal food ingredients, confectioneries, cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients, thickening agents, personal care products, and more, contributing to innovation in halal product development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
