Master of Science in Halal Products Science By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on research and innovation in the authentication and detection of non-halal constituents, contaminants, and toxicants in both food and non-food products, including healthcare items. This program emphasizes the development of detection methods employing various techniques, including chromatography, spectroscopy, molecular biology, nanotechnology, proteomics, and metabolomics.
Students will also explore the aspects of toyyiban (quality assurance) concerning safety, wholesomeness, efficacy, and the health benefits of halal products.
Additionally, the program addresses agricultural production concerns, particularly in slaughter management and supply chain management, preparing graduates to contribute to the integrity and safety of halal practices.
• A Bachelor of Science or related fields of study from UPM or other institutions recognized by UPM with minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent.
