Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) explores the models, theories, and practical applications related to human-human and human-computer interactions, as well as system development. The program addresses important social issues, focusing on how technology can effectively meet the needs of specific user groups, including the elderly, disabled individuals, and children, alongside general users.
Core areas of study include design methodologies such as user-centered design and activity theory, usability studies and evaluation, and user experience encompassing human psychology and accessibility. Additional topics include social interaction design, ubiquitous computing, innovative learning methods, multimodal interaction techniques, and interactive technology applications. Students will also explore web hypermedia technology, user profiling, navigation design, and ethical considerations in Human Computer Interaction. Graduates will acquire the skills necessary to innovate in this evolving field.
