Master of Science in Human Genetics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the scientific study of biology, genetics, and medicine as they pertain to human heredity. This program highlights the growing significance of genetics in the medical field, particularly in the prediction, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. 

Students will engage in research that emphasizes the role of specific genes in genetic and hereditary disorders. Utilizing cutting-edge techniques in cell research, biochemistry, molecular biology, and gene technology, this program aims to explore inheritance patterns, the factors influencing genetic diseases, and individual variations, including mutation screening and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Graduates will be well-equipped to contribute to advancements in the understanding of human genetics.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
