Master of Science in Human Physiology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the scientific study of drug interactions and the effects of poisons and biohazards on biological systems. This program encompasses the fields of pharmacodynamics and toxicodynamics, examining how drugs and poisons act within the body and the physiological reactions they provoke.
Students will explore specific drug-drug and drug-poison interactions, along with the assessment of extracts and bioactive compounds derived from natural sources, such as plants and animals. The program places particular emphasis on the potential of these compounds in drug discovery and their physiological functions, especially in relation to toxicological challenges. Graduates will be well-equipped to contribute to research in human physiology and its applications in pharmacology and toxicology.
