The Master of Science in Laboratory Animal Medicine By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on reproduction, management, and welfare of laboratory animals, emphasizing the prevention and control of diseases in these animals, including non-human primates used in research. The program also addresses significant diseases, their prevention, and treatment strategies.

Students will engage in developing precise and secure laboratory animal breeding and testing facilities utilizing advanced methods and high biosafety technologies. Research primarily involves the production of animal models, including genetically modified and knockout species, diabetic and hyperlipidemic rats, as well as animals for specialized studies such as epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, candidates will explore developmental biology, behavioral studies, xenotransplantation, and drug and toxicological testing, equipping them for careers in laboratory animal medicine.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor's degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
