Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on applying biological techniques to medical research, development, and innovation. Recent advances in genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, cell biology, and immunology have significantly impacted this rapidly evolving field, leading to groundbreaking changes in conventional medicine.

This program emphasizes the development of innovative diagnostic tests with higher accuracy, as well as genetic and proteomic assessments that aid in disease prevention. Students will explore efficient methods for designing and producing more effective and less toxic drugs by targeting molecular pathways. Additionally, thecourse addresses the practical application of gene therapy to treat previously incurable diseases. Graduates will gain in-depth knowledge of biological processes and cutting-edge technologies that contribute to the research and development of pharmaceutical products, vaccines, and medical diagnostic kits and devices.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
