Master of Science in Medical Parasitology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses medical protozoology, medical helminthology, medical entomology, immunoparasitology, and the biotechnology of malaria, along with the study of opportunistic and emerging parasites. This program focuses on parasitic agents and their vectors, emphasizing their pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment, and control of infections affecting both individuals and at-risk communities.
Students will engage in a laboratory or field research project, applying relevant research methodologies and soft skills essential for positions as researchers, administrators, or other careers within the field of medical parasitology. This program prepares graduates to address critical health challenges posed by parasitic infections through effective research and intervention strategies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
