Master of Science in Microbiology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the study of microscopic organisms and their diverse applications across various scientific disciplines.

This program encompasses multiple branches of microbiology, including physiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, ecology, and virology. Students will explore the beneficial roles of microorganisms in industrial processes, such as the production of antibiotics, enzymes, biopolymers for medical applications, and bioremediation of waste. Despite extensive study over the past 400 years, the exact identification and characterization of many microorganisms remain incomplete, highlighting the need for ongoing research. Graduates will be equipped to make significant contributions to the field of microbiology.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree (with honours) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 3.000
