Master of Science in Molecular Imaging By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the visualization of cellular functions and the monitoring of molecular processes in living subjects, whether human or animal, using advanced imaging techniques. This program explores the vast potential of molecular imaging in diagnosing various diseases, including cancer, neurological disorders, cardiovascular conditions, infections, and inflammatory diseases.
Students will learn to utilize state-of-the-art medical devices such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Optical Imaging, and hybrid modalities like PET-CT and SPECT-CT. Unlike traditional imaging, molecular imaging employs probes known as biomarkers to target specific pathways or structures, enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses. The program emphasizes the integration of science, technology, medicine, and pharmacy, preparing graduates for significant contributions to medical applications through the ability to visualize fine molecular changes.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
