Master of Science in Multimedia Computing By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) explores the development of algorithms for enriching, accessing, and searching large volumes of multimedia data. The program emphasizes search engine algorithms tailored to user needs and addresses challenges faced by service providers. 

Students will analyze multimedia data in fields such as healthcare, telecommunications, and geoscience. Research activities will combine mathematical models, machine learning techniques, and practical skills in algorithm development and evaluation. Current research topics include image and video content analysis, object detection, human parsing, and machine learning for multi-modal data. Related studies explore multimedia information access, interaction with multimedia content, and multimedia content management, enabling students to work on innovative applications like semantic extraction and collaborative backup systems.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
