Master of Science in Pharmacology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the scientific study of drug interactions and the effects of poisons and biohazards on biological systems, both in vivo and in vitro. The program covers essential topics such as pharmacodynamics and toxicodynamics, pharmacokinetics and toxicokinetics, as well as the actions of drugs and poisons, body reactions to these substances, and specific drug-drug or drug-poison interactions.

Students will emphasize the pathways and mechanisms of action of various substances, assessing extracts and bioactive compounds from natural sources—both plant and animal—as well as synthetic options, evaluating their potential in drug discovery and physiological functions related to toxicological issues. This comprehensive program equips graduates with knowledge crucial for advancing research in pharmacology.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
