Master of Science in Physical Chemistry By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the study of atomic, molecular, and macroscopic physical phenomena within organic and inorganic substances. Research in this field examines areas such as reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and molecular interactions.
Current projects emphasize the use of chemical and electrochemical methods in preparing and analyzing semiconducting thin films for solar cells and developing organic and inorganic materials for supercapacitors. Additional research includes nanocomposite materials for controlled release, environmental catalysts, and palm oil-based surfactants, as well as the formation of emulsions for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. Students will gain valuable insights into the principles of physical chemistry and their applications in various industries.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.750 or equivalent, as accepted by the UPM Senate
