Master of Science in Pure Mathematics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on key areas of pure mathematics, including algebra, functional analysis, graph theory, number theory, and group theory. The program explores various topics within algebra, such as Lie algebra, Leibniz algebra, Hopf algebra, K-theory algebra, algebraic topology, and homological algebra.
Students will engage in research that investigates infinite-dimensional topological vector spaces in functional analysis, characterizes chromatically unique graphs and analyzes the properties of the chromatic polynomial in graph theory, and explores analytic and algebraic number theory alongside Diophantine approximation. The program also emphasizes computational group theory, providing a thorough foundation for graduates pursuing advanced studies or careers in mathematics.
