Master of Science in Sociology of Education By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) aims to develop dynamic educators and professionals who can effectively monitor and enhance their practices.
This program emphasizes the application of practical knowledge, educational theories, and research to address challenges in the field of education. A unique feature of the program is its focus on the sociology of education from both micro and macro perspectives.
The micro aspect examines factors within schools and educational institutions that serve as agents of socialization, such as culture, educational climate, discipline, peer groups, and hidden curricula.
In contrast, the macro perspective explores broader domains, including educational institutions as formal systems, the teaching profession, equality in education, and cultural diversity.
