Master of Science in Theriogenology and Cytogenetics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the study of obstetrics and infertility, which are significant areas of medical practice. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the estrous cycle, along with skills in pregnancy diagnosis, semen collection and evaluation, and artificial insemination to conduct relevant research in this field.
The program places particular emphasis on reproductive management programs, while also exploring the branch of cytogenetics, which examines the relationship between inheritance and chromosome structure and function. Research efforts related to reproductive issues and birth defects caused by chromosome abnormalities utilize blood and tissue cultures to assess normal morphology and the diploid number of chromosomes. The research group's expertise lies in assisted reproductive biotechnologies for domestic and wildlife animals, alongside diseases related to veterinary reproduction.
