Master of Veterinary Science in Laboratory Animal Medicine By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) specializes in the reproduction, management, and welfare of laboratory animals, with a focus on the prevention and control of diseases relevant to these animals, including non-human primates used in research. The program also investigates important diseases and their prevention and treatment.

Students will have the opportunity to develop secure and precise breeding and testing facilities for laboratory animals using current methods and high biosafety levels. Research primarily revolves around producing animal models such as genetically modified and knockout species, diabetic and hyperlipidemic rats, and animals for specialized research, including studies on epilepsy and Alzheimer's disease. Additional research areas include developmental biology, behavioral studies, xenotransplantation, and drug and toxicological testing, preparing graduates for influential roles in veterinary science.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor's degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
