Master of Veterinary Science in Theriogenology and Cytogenetics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) specializes in addressing obstetrics and infertility in veterinary practice. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the estrous cycle and acquire hands-on skills in pregnancy diagnosis, semen collection and evaluation, and artificial insemination to support their research endeavors.
This program highlights the importance of reproductive management while also delving into cytogenetics, which investigates the connections between inheritance, chromosome structure, and function. Research focused on reproductive challenges and congenital defects stemming from chromosome abnormalities will involve blood and tissue cultures to determine normal chromosomal morphology and diploid numbers. The research group's strengths include assisted reproductive biotechnologies in both domestic and wildlife animals, as well as veterinary reproduction-related diseases.
