Bachelor of Applied Science in Biotechnology with Honours at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is a multidisciplinary programme that focuses on the practical application of biological cells and their components in manufacturing, industrial, and service sectors.

The programme integrates core knowledge from microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular and structural biology, chemistry, and process engineering, providing students with a strong scientific and technical foundation. Emphasis is placed on translating biological principles into real-world biotechnological solutions, supporting innovation in areas such as industrial biotechnology, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental applications.

Graduates of the programme are equipped with both theoretical understanding and applied skills, preparing them for careers in biotechnology-related industries, research, and further professional or postgraduate studies.

Entry Requirements

• Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.75 

And

Minimum grade B in subjects below:

• Biology

And

Minimum grade C in subjects below:

• Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics
