The Bachelor of Applied Science in Geophysics with Honours at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is dedicated to the study of the structure, composition, and dynamic processes of the Earth. The program focuses on applying fundamental physical laws and principles to understand the Earth and, in some contexts, other astronomical bodies.

Key areas of emphasis include atmospheric science, environmental geophysics, oceanography, and the study of rocks and minerals, particularly resources such as petroleum and natural gas. Students are trained to use physical measurements, geophysical surveying techniques, and mathematical modeling to investigate and analyze the structure and behavior of the solid Earth and its fluid components.

Through a strong integration of theory and practical applications, the program equips graduates with the scientific and technical skills required for careers in geoscience-related industries, environmental studies, energy exploration, and advanced research or postgraduate studies in geophysics.

Entry Requirements 

• Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.75

And

Minimum grade B in subjects below:

• Physics
• Mathematics
