Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology with Honours at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is a comprehensive programme that focuses on the scientific study of animal life and biological systems. It provides students with a strong grounding in key areas of animal biology, including animal physiology, ecology, evolution, biodiversity, genetics, and microbiology, supported by foundational knowledge in chemistry, mathematics, and biostatistics.

The programme emphasizes the development of practical laboratory and field-based skills, alongside critical and analytical thinking, while instilling ethical, professional, and responsible scientific practices. Students are trained in essential research techniques, including experimental design, data interpretation, synthesis, and evaluation, enabling them to conduct scientific investigations related to animal biology.

Graduates are prepared for careers in research, wildlife and biodiversity conservation, environmental and animal-related industries, as well as for postgraduate studies and advanced scientific training in animal and life sciences.

Entry Requirements

• Obtained High School Certificate Level or its equivalent with minimum entry qualification of CGPA 2.75 

And

Minimum grade B in subjects below:

• Biology

And

Minimum grade C in subjects below:

• Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics
