The Master of Science in Molecular Biology (By Research) at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) focuses on advanced research across the broad spectrum of cellular and molecular biology. The programme provides opportunities to investigate areas such as whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomics, and the characterisation of candidate genes and proteins, particularly those of biological or biomedical significance. Research may involve a diverse range of organisms, from microorganisms to established model organisms such as Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and zebrafish. Through independent research, students develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in molecular biology and contribute to current developments in life sciences.

Entry Requirements

• A minimum of 2.75/4.00 for BSc in Medical Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics or other related fields
