The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at UTeM University, Malaysia, is designed for candidates who wish to engage in directed research under the supervision of an academic staff member or a panel of supervisors. This program focuses on a specific subject, guiding candidates through the processes involved in developing and applying new knowledge.

The research topic is collaboratively determined between the candidate and their supervisor(s). Academic progress is assessed through a Research Progress Report submitted at the end of each semester. Upon completion of the study, candidates undergo an oral examination (viva-voce) of their thesis to earn the degree.

Candidates interested in pursuing this research-based program may apply for admission throughout the year, offering flexibility in their academic journey.

Entry Requirements

• A Master’s degree in the field or related fields accepted  by the HEP senate.
