The Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering (Research) at UTM University Malaysia is offered on a full-time basis, with a study duration ranging from a minimum of three (3) years to a maximum of eight (8) years.

Assessment for the program includes progress reports, supervisor evaluations, research proposals, and a viva. This program equips graduates with in-depth knowledge in chemical engineering and enhances their ability to formulate, solve, and address problems through effective critical thinking skills.

Graduates are also trained to organize and communicate relevant knowledge and expertise effectively, both orally and in writing, preparing them for successful careers in academia, industry, and research.

Entry Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other Institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate.

PLO1: Able to demonstrate an in-depth advance knowledge in chemical engineering-related areas using the techniques and skills for chemical engineering practice.

PLO3: Ability to articulate and convince ideas and findings through collaborative work, oral presentation and scientific/journal writing.
