The Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic Civilisation (Research) at UTM University Malaysia, within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, is an advanced research-based program designed for students to conduct independent and in-depth research in the broad field of Islamic studies

Under close academic supervision, students will produce a doctoral thesis that significantly contributes to knowledge and understanding in their chosen area The program typically takes between 3 to 8 years to complete and encompasses a wide range of research areas, including:

• Islamic History and Civilisation
• Aqidah and Islamic Thought
• Da’wah and Leadership
• Al-Quran and Hadith
• Islamic Economics and Finance
• Shariah and Law
• Calligraphy and Islamic Arts
• Manuscript Studies
• Islamic Medicine and Therapy
• Islamic Education
• Islamic Psychology and Psychotherapy

This diverse curriculum enables students to explore various aspects of Islamic civilisation, enhancing their expertise and research capabilities.

Entry Requirements

• A Master’s Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other Institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate.
