The M.Eng. (Mechatronics and Automatic Control) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia focuses on the interdisciplinary field of Mechatronics and Control Engineering, which finds applications across various industrial sectors. This program aims to provide graduates with the necessary theoretical and practical skills to apply modern control techniques to industrial problems and engage in further research. The curriculum is designed in line with the requirements of Industry 4.0 and covers key aspects of control theory and mechatronics, including adaptive and robust control, artificial intelligence, process control, industrial instrumentation, robotics, and control applications in mechatronic systems. It also encompasses courses on Rapid Prototyping and Simulation, Smart Manufacturing, Cyber-Physical Systems, Embedded Systems for Innovative Product Design, Deep Learning, and Intelligent Vision Systems. Students will gain proficiency in utilizing computer packages for control design. The program can be completed in a minimum study duration of one year, requiring 43 credits. Exceptional students may have the opportunity to pursue Ph.D. research after completing this program.
