The Master of Engineering Specialization: Chemical programme at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is available on a full-time basis at the UTM Main Campus in Johor Bahru. The duration of study ranges from one and a half (1.5) years to a maximum of four (4) years. This program welcomes graduates from science, technology, and engineering courses, and also encourages individuals from other disciplines with relevant experiences to apply. Depending on the candidate's background, prerequisite courses may be required to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the advanced courses offered.

The programme follows a full-time schedule, with a 2-Semester per academic session structure. Generally, students are expected to enroll in courses equivalent to a range of three (3) to fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Assessment is conducted through a combination of coursework, final examinations, and a dissertation project that is assigned throughout the semester.

Entry Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree: Candidates should possess a good honors bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or an equivalent qualification. The degree should have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 and above. The bachelor's degree should provide a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and relevant coursework.
  • Lower Degree Grade with Working Experience: In certain cases, candidates with a lower degree grade may be considered for admission if they have sufficient working experience in the field. The working experience should demonstrate practical knowledge and skills in civil engineering.
