The Master of Philosophy programme in the field of Bioprocess Engineering (MKKB) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is offered on a full-time basis, with a study duration ranging from one (1) year to a maximum of four (4) years. The research program assessment is conducted through progress reports, supervisor's evaluations, research proposals, and a viva voce examination. The programme aims to apply advanced knowledge in bioprocess engineering and develop students' abilities to design and manage scientific research using acceptable methodologies, while employing effective thinking skills. Critical analysis and evaluation of problems in related areas are emphasized, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques. Effective communication of technical findings, both in written and oral forms, is expected. The programme promotes intellectual honesty and integrity in performing scientific work and encourages students to identify and apply available information and research evidence within the relevant context.

Entry Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree: Candidates should possess a good honors bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or an equivalent qualification. The degree should have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 and above. The bachelor's degree should provide a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and relevant coursework.
  • Lower Degree Grade with Working Experience: In certain cases, candidates with a lower degree grade may be considered for admission if they have sufficient working experience in the field. The working experience should demonstrate practical knowledge and skills in civil engineering.
