The Master of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering (Research) at UTM University Malaysia is designed for individuals interested in conducting in-depth research in specialized areas of chemical engineering Candidates for the Master’s or PhD programs receive supervision from selected Graduate Faculty members 

The program involves directed research work that familiarizes students with the processes of developing and applying new knowledge A lecturer or a panel of lecturers appointed by the faculty will oversee the research 

Students must complete one university general elective course (3 credits) and attend a Research Methodology course The minimum duration for full-time students is two semesters for the Master’s degree and six semesters for the doctoral degree Students may also have the option to convert their Master’s program to a PhD, subject to faculty approval 

Assessment includes semester progress reports and an oral examination (viva voce) of the thesis upon completion of the program Notably, doctoral students who have successfully published two papers in international refereed journals may submit their thesis after four semesters of full-time study.

Entry Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree with good honours from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognised by the Senate.
