The Bachelor of Materials Engineering (Hons) program at UTP University Malaysia focuses on the relationship between material structures and properties. Students learn to design materials with specific properties and develop processing techniques. The program emphasizes strong fundamentals in Mathematics and Engineering principles. Students can specialize in elective packages, gain practical problem-solving experience, and complete an industrial internship. They also gain awareness of environmental, social, and ethical considerations. Core specializations include Advanced Computational and Modelling of Materials and Degradation and Failure of Materials.

UTP University Malaysia offers four Minor packages in management and business for engineering students: Entrepreneurship, International Relations, Project Management, and Big Data Analytics. To be eligible, students must complete all courses within the chosen Minor package (15 credits). The grades earned count towards their GPA/CGPA. Pursuing a Minor is optional, and the credit hours earned are in addition to the graduation requirements of 143 credits.
